A phone call. 17/05/16

You enter the room.

A telephone rings.

You pick up.

It's her.

She thinks you're her lover.

She calls you a name.

She says she'll see you tonight.

She hangs up.

A few minutes pass.

The phone rings again.

This time she calls you a different name.

She says she won't see you tonight.

She hangs up again.

love this - almost nihilistic in it's disconnection - you the writer describing two telephone calls between two unknown people - of course the 'she' could easily be you but that's immaterial and we don't need to know.
