White Appliances

entry picture

Second hand goods

Are never quite new

Even scrubbed

Lack cleanliness

Lack shine

Lack lustre

No instructions

No guarantees

No idea

How long they’ll last

Of the mileage

Or abusage

Someone else

Has touched them

Left their prints

Left their smell

Banged the drum

Heard the spin

Tumbled readily

Washed out

The colour

Be it washer, drier or microwave

Better, I think, to buy new

◄ Imagination

Hi Joan,
Ah, so true. There's many a good spoon slayed on an old griddle. :-)

Bring back the dolly-tub!

Regards,
A.E.

Yes but even new ones can be shop soiled! When loads a peeps have had their grubby mitts on them trying them out, who can tell what you`re sometimes getting???

Would agree Janet - sometimes it has more to do with the history of the appliance and the previous owners.

How very sad but true. With a little time and patience though, sometimes they work out just as well. Might be a bit out-dated but at least they had the chance to be loved.
New can be equally difficult to get accustomed to and often break down just as the guarantee's run out.

I'm presuming this could also apply to people? You are good, girl.

Those shorter formal structures of poetry which I mentioned before are just plain fun, Joan. If you don 't find them, give me a shout; I know you would enjoy them.
