The One Who Loves You

So would you believe me if I said I loved you?

Yes, me. The one who comes into your restaurant every week

For the rather average food

And asks for a table in your section,

Me,

The one who loves you

So, would you be flattered if my eyes followed you

Yes you, as you pass table to table

And smile back when I smile and flash your blue eyes at me

As you pass by serving

Various confections

Me,

The one who loves you

So would you be annoyed to find me, ogling your body

Yes me, the quiet one, the one who caresses you with a look

Ever more excited lusting after your perfect skin

And jet black hair

Asking for a side plate, provocatively

Me

The one who loves you

For true love is lust

For me, it’s a heart beating faster when you are near enough to touch

It’s the scent of your hair as you serve my food

And as for the couple who sent their meals back

I could kill them for you,

Me,

the one who loves you

love
