Kids!

Insanity’s hereditary

You get it from your kids!

You love them but they’d drive you mad

With all the things they did.

Through scary childhood illnesses

And all the hurts and spills

You just hope that you can balance

The terrors with the thrills

When your little prince or princess

Causes all those ructions

You realise that when they came

You got no instructions

As they grow up you nurture them

And teach them right from wrong

From toddlers through to teenage years

You try to stand up strong

When they’re handling all life’s problems

Like you faced in your day

You just hope that when they meet them

They find a better way

And even when they’re all full grown

You still can’t still your dreads

For even though they’re parents too

They’ll always be your kids.
