Keemo Kids

Chemo Kids.

3 January 2015 at 22:39

Chemo kids,

say keemo kids.

Beautiful pale,

Androgynous,

Hail.

The chemo kids.

They can’t fail.

Inspire and scale

the towers of life.

Fighting,

So beautiful.

The chemo kids.

They take our hearts.

Each loving one.

Trembling, crying.

Limbo and laughter,

Hairless,

Painted eye brows.

Porcelain skin,

Such fragile beauty.

Smiles and hope

for all.

They teach us life.

We see them walk tall,

and our love

Is given

quite unbidden,

as they, selfless,

fly,

easy as pie,

in a rainbow sky.

Its why

We love the chemo kids.

Thank you for your kind words. This was the easiest/hardest pome i've ever written. sat on the teen cancer ward.. it was a pure stream of consciousness took about three or four minutes. Based entirely on emotions felt.

David I don't know how the Docs and nurses do this, they give so much love along with their care. It exhausted me walking into the room. with all the pain and beauty.

Lynn what a beautiful thing that you have given me back.

Ray thank you. "Both hands outstretched"... i'll remember those words!

Bittersweet and beautiful - captures a difficult subject with both hands outstretched.
