Trev does Texas yet again 2016: Edinburg to Austin

entry picture

Image: Saying goodbye to Shishi, one of Nianna's cats, lovely creatures they were too.

146) We’re up and ready to be away to face another day

I said to Nianna “you ready to eat, breakfast my treat”.

“Can we go Mexican” she asks I say “we can”

Soon we’re on the way to a place we saw the other day

Different flavour a new taste to savour

Into Zamora’s we walk, sit eat an’ talk

About the time we’ve had, the teacher an’ the travellin’ lad

An' what we’ve shared with friends and more,

Stories an’ our latest poetry score

The perfect start to the day, bill paid then we’re away

Sadly soon I have to depart, but with great memories in my heart

147) Car stowed, farewell hugs an’ I hit the road

Interstate found an’ once more I’m Northwards bound

Driving along I find goin’ through my mind

Good memories an’ more of another great poetry tour

Radio playin’ a country song I’m singin' along

Losin’ a station, no bothers, press the buttons find another

Gas stop, a few hours later Austin’s in sight

Then I’m at my motel for the night

Get things sorted then I’m away

To Kick Butt for mty last event of the day

Tomorrow I’m away the end of my 2016 poetry roam

Back to England and my family waitin’ to welcome me home

148) Kick Butt for the final time a least rendition of my rhyme

I read three poems good an’ clear

When I’d done I said goodbye, cos’ tomorrow home I fly

An’ they said we love you man, don’t forget to come back next year”
