Shadows
Your shadow is always taller than mine,
I can hear you in my dreams,
Somewhere I see the muses,
Paint on their finger tips,
Notes on their thighs,
Your music echoes,
Into the cities air,
So long ago we danced on the breeze,
Almost a lifetime ago,
The curl of your lip,
The frown on your forehead,
Do not worship me you said,
I am not a hero,
The muses cannot see,
The crowds cannot hear,
We shared the same pain,
The same hate,
The same shame,
You were interested only in the broken,
Not the Gods
Not the powers that be,
Do not worship me
Be still
Be still my love you said to me,
Only you were a God and King to me....
And now you are so far away
Yet so near
I am not a hero
Or a God or a King,
Do not worship me.....
Please my love you whisphered do not worship me...........
