First poetry collection nearly ready

Hello folks,

I now have my first collection of poetry almost ready to self-publish based on my 1990's poems and rants etc.  The dilemma is this:  Do I publish it as 45 poems (to symbolise my age and 20 yearssince I began writing poetry, which has developed since then)?  Or (becasue create space paperback print of demand retail at around £7.99) do I go for it and put everything I've got into it and make it worth the cost which is steep for a poet nobody knows?  Then it would have to not be so 90's themed but general.  So far I have played around the order of poems like tracks of an album and have also sorted them into themes etc.  Not sure though what to do with the publishing.  90's collection or general introduction?  I'm sticking with the title though:  Poems for the International Launderette.

Having put words on both the printed page and via the
CD format at my own expense, the pleasure is having
them in permanent formats - with the added luxury of
calling the shots as far as pricing and promotion is concerned.
The "value" is very much a personal thing as this is
basically a product and if you are in search of a market
for it, you will need to be open minded, patient and adaptable when seeking your public.
I once put an ad. as a "gift" item in a quality magazine
at some expense and got no replies at all. But there is
some truth in "You have to speculate to accumulate",
even if it's just recovering outlay.
Self-publication has an honourable tradition and shows
confidence in one's own efforts.
Good luck - whatever!
