Rain

I used to never cry

for I cried a thousand tears

in youth,

but tears fall

gently down,

rain pouring out

from my soul.

And the hands of change

hold this life.

Everything is different now,

but can I live in different?

My footsteps march into the unknown,

and the webs spun from the past

linger on my skin.

I have to go forward

but can’t forget what I leave behind.

I have to hold strong

against the winds of change

and hope that life different

is the life that I dreamed,

and the skies are clear.

But tears still fall

from my eyes,

rain pouring down,

and washing away the debris

of a world reshaped.

Don't worry about the tears. Be the one to re-shape the world, a little more in the shape of poets such as yourself
