It's true when viewing a famous past
Comes the knowledge it won't last;
No use dwelling on what was done,
On what was paid in blood and won.
Do those who face an uncertain future
Get a stitch in time - or infected suture?

I like to think the future will surprise in the best way but
it will probably be beyond my own lifetime.
