Two new, previously unpublished poems from veteran playwright and poet Bernard Kops, plus contributions from Ash Dickinson, Steve Pottinger, Chrys Salt, Wendy Klein, David Cooke, Paul Sutherland and Bethany Pope are included in a new poetry anthology from Guildford’s The 1,000 Monkeys that will be launched at the Keystone pub in Guildford on Monday 8 June.

The anthology aims to present performance and page poetry “on equal terms”, and is edited by The 1,000 Monkeys’ Janice Windle, who with co-founder and compere Dónall Dempsey runs two monthly poetry nights in Guildford at the Bar Des Arts and the Keystone pub. Contributors to the anthology – the group’s third – have all appeared at one or both of the open mic venues. More details
