My Bedroom Floor

Some people are very bad sad and blind
they have no initative or know how to be kind
their presence knows no boundaries what so ever
leading people to the end of their tethers...

would it be okay to swap these chips in?
and ask god if he'd consider starting again.
I wonder what my first thought was
and how my first breath of air felt
I wonder why it was these cards that were delt.

You are very lucky
I'm not sure how lucky you know you are
but we've got this earth beneath us and a long long way to go.

I think it's okay to look at life from both sides
like I do,
just like I do
it really will not hurt you...

but make you more aware
of all of your surroundings
all of the fumbles in the dark and the best of foundings

I've seen a lot
and I wish to see more
not sure I could handle the view of my bedroom floor
again
and
again
and
again.

yeah, would be interested in hearing a recording of this also as it definately deserves to be recorded.

the short short lines at the end really work well for me here in particular but it's a good un all round

Do you perform your poems ever? I would love to hear audio of this poem. It definitely begs to be read aloud and heard.

I really like how there seem to be "movements" in this piece like a symphony does. From one stanza to the next I had very different memories or thoughts come to mind through the whole poem.

I too have been writing since a young age, just joined writeoutloud, and am looking forward to engaging poetry and poets more. Thanks for sharing this poem.
