Writing workshops for youngsters in Calderdale with Gaia Holmes at Phoenix FM

entry picture

If you’re a young person (aged 14+) in Calderdale who likes writing, why not join Gaia Holmes for a series of free workshops at Halifax-based community radio station Phoenix FM? The workshops will play with language, look at a variety of writing styles and radio techniques and work towards producing a feature for broadcast which will explore the hopes, fears, dreams and wishes of the characters that live on a fictional street in West Yorkshire.

In the Easter holidays sessions will be held on Thursday 9 April from 9-12am and 1-4pm. You can come along to one session or stay all day. During term time sessions will be on Wednesdays from 4-7pm, starting on 15 April. If possible, please contact the organisers in advance to let them know you are coming. If you are under 18, you will need to bring a completed consent form. For more details contact Sara on 01422 365923 or email sara@phoenixfm.co.uk.

I reckon these will be fab. One of our regular poets at Marsden Write Out Loud waxes lyrical about Gaia's inspirational workshops. Get the youngsters to these workshops!
