Consume Me

You weigh in my mind

Like the feather that tipped the scale

Your presence lingers where you sat

And spoke

And lay

And laughed

You have consumed me

I lay here knowing

You once lay there

Knowing you lay sleeping

Far from me

Knowing soon is your waking hour

Though I have yet to sleep

As though to dream

Would be to miss my thoughts of you

How are you so strong

That with open eyes I picture

Being wrapped up in your scent

Or in your arms

My mind paints you as a lover

My life paints you as a friend

I do not consent

That you should affect me so

I am not pleased

You are my every thought

Awake

Asleep

I never cease to see you

I wonder what your skin would feel like

Against my lips

Or the texture of your fingers

Laced in mine

I crave the sound of your laugh

Deep in your chest

The ever-present

Rumble

You make me dare to be

A different me

Than I was before the day

I may eyes on you

A lovely piece Pixie.I am an old married lady now but your poem sent me back in time to when I was single and suffered from those all to strong feelings of love and lust with all the worry of not knowing if they were echoed.
