Despite the incitement towards "cheer" 

And forced bonhomie that mirrors fear

From hordes of humanity pressing near,

I have my doubts about each new year.

Sometimes it seems that they suggest

A challenge amounting to a test.

Now - looking back at all the rest,

I take the view that each LIVED is best!
