Rhetoric

I’ve found Angels haunting darkness and some riddles clear as answers

Seen evil help the weakest soul saw new lives start with cancers

Studied rocks to learn to fly found learning in forgetting

Saw blood and bone return to dust then watched the new sun setting

Pondered if there is a soul and at what price would I sell

Contemplated on the afterlife and tales the mystics tell

Found rationale in paradox and metaphorical duality

Perhaps it’s all a masquerade and we create our own reality

Is truth the truth or subjective or is this just a lie

Does religion sell us fairytales to perplex us till we die

Are thinkers all the stupid ones and thoughtless free of pain

No flowers without sun rays but we also need some rain

Alone I’m never lonely but in company sometimes

I feel a chill from some bad will through ego’s battle lines

The gentle man the strongest and the violent full of fear

The inferior they lust for power a fact becoming clear

There’s no wisdom in the lines above or logic in my thought

Just thoughts that spin within my mind that pen and paper caught.

I love this, was trying to pick out my favourite line, but too many to choose from! Thanks for sharing it :)

Ged,
This is truly `the way things are` however, I suspect the title is a bit satirical and that you have rolled up your sleeves and are `getting on with it`.

I like: `The ego`s battle lines`

(and, of course, the rhyming)
