Dragging my life to school
And knowing…
That
There
Lay
The sum …
Of my suffering
A blackout board
Learning the parts of the body quickly
From blows that went in
Dragging my life from school
And knowing
That
There
Waited
A blow
A plate in the air
And thankfully a knife that didn’t go in
Dragging my life to and from school
And knowing….

Yehep - I get this, been there done that etc.
I like your use of sparsity in here. It chimes with the feelings of trauma that are experienced on an ongoing basis. Sucks the life out of you does that.
