After the Rain

entry picture

After the Rain

Jewelled spheres of tiny plumpness

Dangle transparently on a

Cotton thread delicate framework.

Bulbous reflections throb and pulse

On convex skins, as trembling wind

Disrupts their precarious cling

Onto flimsy, gossamer grass.

Swimming dewy grapes, at the mercy

Of speedily nibbling sheep;

Beware of careless hikers boot!
