When Stars Danced.

When Stars Danced.

In a time once passed, stars danced for us

Butterflies hovered serenely in meditation

Guides whispered messages and Angels and demons waged war

On the battlefield of the soul

A time of shipwreck and salvation.  Of death and rebirth

Then christened in the waters of madness

Swaddled in blankets of both wonderment and torment

Guidance was delivered from the heart .

But we had not yet ears to listen, nor eyes to see

The messages too mystic and visions softly fading

Like beautiful sounds dissipating into an empty theatre hall

You cannot hold echoes of love in your hand.

And as the sun sets on the horizon

Moonbeams take the place of rainbows

And the mystics and poets look up to the heavens

With complete faith that, stars will dance

Once again.

I like the:

`Butterflies hovered serenely in meditation`

And the way your stuff is spreading.

'You cannot hold echoes of love in your hand.'

This is a beautiful poem Ged. I hadn't quite appreciated how lovely it was till I heard it performed. You manage to put so many nuances in there without becoming sentimental - I love poetry that can do that. x
