Linda Cosgriff's South Africa poem in human rights anthology
A poem about censorship in South Africa in the apartheid era by Linda Cosgriff, a member of Stockport Write Out Loud, is included in a new anthology, In Protest: 150 Poems for Human Rights, that also contains poem by Carol Ann Duffy, Ruth Padel, and Douglas Dunn. The anthology is a collaboration between the Human Rights Consortium and the Institute of English Studies (both School of Advanced Study, University of London), and London-based poetry collective the Keats House Poets.
The poems were selected from over 600 poems submitted by established and emerging poets, and provide an international insight into issues ranging from the transatlantic slave trade, the Hola massacre and indigenous peoples' rights to the current war in Syria. The anthology will be launched at the Bloomsbury festival in Senate House, University of London on 20 October at 6pm.
