                          How We Used To Live.

                          When bestiaries were commonplace

                          and symbolised a path to grace,

                          the sheen that lights a raven’s wing

                          was held to be a common thing;

                          until such features lost their claim

                          to hallow detail with a name.

Thank you very much. Years ago i heard a feature on the radio that mentioned an archaic word used to describe the sheen on the bird's wing. I wrote it down somewhere but i've never been able to find it.
