Reprieve granted in cuts fight at Stockport art gallery

Members of Write Out Loud Stockport meet at Stockport art gallery on Monday 14 January, for their monthly open mic night,  following news that plans to cut the gallery’s opening hours have been postponed for six months, after consultation and a public outcry. Meanwhile the council is to look at other ways of cutting costs. If no alternative “sustainable” savings can be found the cuts will still go ahead later this year.  

As Write Out Loud’s Stockport organiser John Keane said to fellow members on  the group’s Write Out loud Profile page: “Looks like we are still in with a shout.” Monday’s meeting begins at 7pm. More details and Map
