Christmas Card 2012

entry picture

Holly berry and mistletoe on the vine

Prompt me to render this rhyme,

Of merry greetings that come to mind

Written out line by line.

The short cold days are the sign

That once more its Christmas time,

So get ready with a toast of ale or wine

To celebrate Old Lang Syne.

Let all that’s best and good combine

As glittering stars and fairy lights shine,

Hark how the church bells start to chime

As happy parties go out to wine and dine.

To bring you joy the pleasure’s mine

For the season of Yule is always fine,

So hang up the tinsel and baubles on the pine

As loving thoughts of family and friends entwine.

As warm and cheering as a glass of mulled wine!
