Council's leisure chief to be quizzed at Write Out Loud Stockport

Stockport council’s head of culture and leisure, Peter Ashworth, is to attend tonight’s meeting of Write Out Loud Stockport on 12 November to answer questions from Write Out Loud members concerned about the threat to close Stockport art gallery to the public on weekday afternoons from Tuesday to Friday as part of council spending cuts. More than 1,000 people have now signed the online petition opposing the planned closures. There will still be poems and discussion as well, as usual, at Monday's open mic evening, from 7-9pm at the art gallery. More details and Map
