Harold Pinter 1930-2008

Playwright Harold Pinter has died aged 78 following a battle with cancer. 

Pinter wrote more than 30 plays including The Caretaker, The Homecoming and The Dumb Waiter. His film scripts include The French Lieutenant's Woman. He was also, especially in his later years, a controversial poet.

He won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2005.
