Our Guest Poet

Wol's own! 'Harry O'Neil'

Harry read across Liverpool towards the end of the old poetry scene in the late 70s and achieved fleeting fame in the Echo having read with McGough.  He even had the honour of reading poetry to  an empty hall with the late great Adrian Henri; now that's poetry for you!

In the last few years Harry was happy to return to the poetry scene, finding it once again to be vibrant place to be. A valued contributor to online poetry via 'write out loud', he appears at a host of local poetry nights. Writing with sparkling wit and voicing with a whisper the softest, loveliest of love poetry;

Harry's a poet with the right spirit!

Our Guest Musician

Acoustic singer/songwriter  'Anne Marie Howard'

Well known on the Liverpool scene playing regularly both as a solo artist and as part of her band ‘The Fleuron’.  Anne Marrie has only been performing since 2011, but has already played at The Bandstand Marathon and the prestigious ‘The International Pop Overthrow Festival’ as part of Liverpool’s Matthew Street Festival.

Eclectic influences result in an ethereal sound, folk music that sometimes hints at something darker.  'Way Gone’ has beautiful melodies and ‘Sweet Memories’ great vocals and crisp guitar picking. You can find these tracks along with others here:

If you travel from afar, we will accommodate and make sure you get a good chance to read at a time that allows you to make any travel arrangements back home.

Everyone who attends can read- open set, inclusivity is everything!

It's going to be an amazing night!

We'd love to see you and hear you read- join us!

We will be video recording poets and musicians reads/performances (if they want) in high definition 1080p. This is something that can be added to Youtube or facebook pages. A very fancy camera will also do a lot of clicking. If anyone does not wish to be filmed or photographed- no problem.

Breaking News!

Poems by poets filmed for use on YouTube; 'May' now be considered for publication by 'The Merseysider'. With a member of the magazine reviewing the videos we now place on YouTube.
