Lighten up: top poets on hand to help inject humour

entry picture

Is your performance poetry more performance than poetry? Does your writing need some love and attention? A five-day Arvon comedy in poetry course, with celebrated poets and entertainers Kate Fox and Matt Harvey, will examine the dark and light arts of humour and look at ways to inject it into writing and performances. Playful and practical workshops are intended to help increase light and shade in the writing of poets of all levels. There will be one-to one tutorials with each tutor, plus plenty of time to write, and  a special guest appearance from Byron Vincent.  Grants are available for those on a low income. The course is from 27 August to 1 September, at Totleigh Barton, in Devon. More details
