Career Politicians and Bankers are evil (insert expletive/s)

One villain makes a world full of heroes

Crises thrive on ones and zeroes

Morons will respond with "tough!"

But it’s the bravest who will shout "enough!"

Champions dare to show compassion

Even when resolve is ashen

Write off our protests as rude

When the choices are a roof or food?

Sickening.  Calling it a crunch

Arranging bail-outs over power-lunches

Things are bad.  Oh no!  Oh dear!

Do you know the meaning of severe?

Two million jobless by New Year

Illegal wars on the oil frontier

All you old bigots reappear

Lining your pockets like a bent cashier

You’ll tell us we’ve still got it sweet

Sky TV – two cars on the street

And on the street is where we’ll be

Along with your popularity

You’ll give your mates Ministerial jobs

And while a rent boy shines your knob

Fiddling with your tiny erection

You’ll fiddle and win the next election

Feet on table.  Job done

Satsuma shoved right up your bum

Every single tale’s been spun

It’s none for all and all for one

But some of us have been here before

And last time we were keeping score

Despite your will to make us poor

We can still show you the door

Go on, misjudge our erudition

Unwittingly promote sedition

You’re mistaken thinking pounds have clout

It’s people, and we will have you out

I love this poem Steve. It's very sophisticted language and used a difficult rhyme (very successfully). I love sickening as a sort of answer to your effective rhetorical question.

loved it

And thank you for your constructive comments. I really appreciate them and have to say that I agree about the cliche and will amend accordingly.

Big hug
