Roll out the red carpets!

I spent hours of hard concentration to judge the poems submitted to our Liverpool-themed LIVER BARDS page poetry competition.

We now have a worthy prize-winner, runner-up, and another writer who will be commended.

They will be announced at our sister poetry club, the Bards of New Brighton, at its LIVE POETRY CONTEST this coming Monday 14 May at the Magazine pub in New Brighton, starting 7.30pm.

The Liver Bards comp winning poems will be read out at the next LIVER BARDS evening at the Ship and Mitre pub in Liverpool city centre (upstairs room) on Monday 21 May, starting 8pm.

A range of prizes - cash ones plus subscriptions to poetry journals - will be presented to our winners. All prizes are funded by the proceeds of our raffles.

Admission is free to all BARDS and LIVER BARDS nights, and it always will be.
