Suspicion

The clock ticks on the mantelpiece,

Soon you will be home;

Please don’t say those words again.

How can you believe that of me?

That I could be so faithless,

And cause you such deep pain.

It was just malicious gossip

Designed to split us up

That we must rise above.

Falsehoods concocted by losers!

Forget their cruel accusations

And think instead of our love.

Remove the clasp from my hair,

Let it tumble down around us.

Wrap me inside your arms so strong.

Kiss me like you did last night

Before those nagging doubts set in.

Remember how well we belong.

Tell me you believe in me,

Let me see your tenderest emotions

Shine in your dancing eyes.

Trace your hands around my curves,

Let me feel your deepest passion

Between my trembling thighs.

Please don’t say those words again,

Those words I cannot bear….

Hi lynn, this is a very touching and sensitive piece. I like the way you leave the option open to interpret 'those words.' Many could put in their own words then.

Really touching piece, almost pleading.

Nice one. Keep posting.

Mike
