I just want a dog!

I just want a dog !

For God’s sake, I only want a dog

It’s not like I wanna have sex

It’s not like I wanna get pregnant

It’s not like I’m gonna take drugs

It’s not like I’m asking for a car

I just want a dog!

You always had a dog when you were a kid

Why’s it SUCH a ‘NO, NO’ for me?

You’re so damn unfair

This is injustice

Discrimination

The exercise of parental power gone mad!

Control, fascism

Against my pet-owning-rights

I just want a dog!

Our neighbours’ have dogs

Your friends, my friends have dogs

Small, short, long-legged, shaggy,

With dog breath and without

For God’s sake, I only want a dog

Yeah it’ll need training

Yeah it’ll need walking

Yeah it’ll need care and there’ll be vets bills

Yeah it’ll need to be fed

Yeah there’s all that yucky poop-a-scoop stuff

But all me mates parents do it!

It’s not like I’m throwing away my right to vote

It’s not like I’m gonna date some ‘mum hates him!’ weirdo

It’s not like I’m opting for a life-long GAP year is it

I just want a dog!

For God’s sake, I only want a dog

Only a dog indeed!

Made me smile. Very real and the dynamics and trails of being the parent are transmitted unambiguously! Your voice's 'lists' are captured powerfully!
