Donna Louise.

She tours sidewalks of roared glass
observes the dirty phenomenon
night-life,
seen through the depths of
Helen Kellers eyes.
burnt under the cities alternating current
a pulse,
tapping solar beats to beaming dreams.

& has seen more than she should
her eye's give it away,
wisdom beyond her years does blind
the innocence of Rapunzel.
Life is nothing she has read before.

Nevertheless,
somewhere people gossip
over rainbows and foreign markets
a Saviour in artless form,
rain shifts across it's glaze
dies, dense,
astounded by winters acclaimed fortune.

I only wish I’d have taken more time to notice.

When I saw her, I shouted
blasphemy fell on her place of serenity
vile subjects attained
not wanting to become a father figure,
what she feared most I may become.

Father...
parted eyes glazed with devils peril
inked atop embrace
bleached and specs of tainted crimson
to mimic his brutality.

the Satyr from her childhood
who’s morals of authority,
clouded
by raptures of the flesh
her body raped from cradle
innocence abated.

A war is upon her, a plaque
tonight
peasants fit prey for pretty girls
lay mute to heavy hands
a host to an empty soul.
eyes sable to maidens flesh
winter rose essence,
...a hope of chastity.

A broken doll, satin lolled from check to check,
I only wish I’d have taken more time to notice.

As for me
“too late came the cry”
I should of believe her lies
put simple 2+2 together,
each year brings comfort
that his name shall never force your lips
yet, selfish as I am
I wish you here to whisper mine.

I find faith in each letter of the keys
writing this,
and hope wherever you are the sun is as warm
as you were to me.
I wait to see you once more
to cry in front of you,
say “sorry” and tell you I loved you
call you wife,
like I should of right here.

She, along with all us had beaming dreams
though, she let them go because of him.
she could not wait for me to understand.

"sorry."
