Ann Foxglove on the radio

entry picture

Write Out Loud poet Ann Foxglove will be reading from some of her work and interviewed later this month on Do The Write Thing, a new live programme on Redruth community radio with Sue Farmer.

Sue Farmer said: “Do The Write Thing is a whole hour dedicated to the spoken word every Friday from 3.30 to 4.30. Whether it is poetry, song, story, novel extracts, plays or film, we aim to enthral the listener and inspire writers out there. Each week I hope to bring you the best original work from local writers by inviting a guest artist into the studio to share their work.”

Redruth community radio is only available online at present, although it is applying for an FM licence. Ann’s interview is set for 19 August.

Hi Ann,

Hope it goes well. I did a stint with a friend on BBC Radio Devon a while back - it was fun, but very "lightweight" as the presenter wanted limericks on celebs etc. If you do manage to get an event up and running I'll do my best to make it, it would be good to meet up and chew the fat!

Regards,

A.E.

You've obviously never been to Wigan Daniel. If you were to pay us a visit you'd realise why my poetry was so lovely.... x

Thanks guys. Friend Allen Forster is on this week, he'll be worth a listen, a very amusing chap. And it's possible from today to hear previous programmes in the series. Last week Vonnie Carter was on. She is an artist but also writes great stories and poems, often with a science fiction element. The week before the guest was Les Murton, a really good Cornish poet who publishes Poetry Cornwall magazine.
