Some say they are lazy

If that’s what they thought they knew

They should have gone to Strange Brew

Cos line one may be right

When we recited through the night

Which started with quite a range

The Brew not the only thing strange

A table full of paper and card

Work from many an attending bard

Was it an exercise in sociology?

When they all got an anthology

So it began at the bewitching hour

Poets inspiration in flower

Waiting to read in a queue

One would recite in Hebrew

Poems with swearing

Poems about caring

Poems bringing forth hilarity

My first was about a charity

My second was when I did find it

A tribute to the man behind it

My third was not to be missed

A skit at the honours list

The rest may have been considered crude

All about bad attitude

Listeners thought they were fine

Cos’ the attitude was mine
