First come first served for a £30 last minute discount for an absolute bargain poetry fun weekend.

This whole event was brilliant! said one participant at our last Write Out Loud BIG weekend. Wonderful, superb, thank you, thank you! were more, typical of our 100% excellent feedback. Now you can find out what all the fuss was about by signing up for one of the last few places!

In fact, this time will be even better, with top-class writing workshops, great company, chance to hold your own at two open mic events - one in the village pub - glorious scenery on the Pennine Way... and all at a fantastic low price with accommodation and all food included. What more could you want? Nothing.

The Write out Loud BIG weekend runs from Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd April 2011 at Mankinholes Youth Hostel, an enchanting16thcentury manor house on in beautiful Pennine Way moorland between Hebden Bridge and Todmorden.

Our workshop tutors are four wonderful, much-published, poets with a wealth of experience and talent : Gaia Holmes, Steve Waling, Simon Rennie and Freda Davis; all of whom will help you let your creativity  be sparked and then flow into new vistas. You will be able to take part in two workshops with a free spell to go off and write, dream, create or join a walking group to the nearby Stoodley Pike monument.

There will be  chance to take part in two open-mic events compered by master impresario, Julian Jordon. One open mic  will be on the Friday evening in the hostel, and the second in a nearby pub on the Saturday night, with a communal meal (included in price) and quaffing of excellent local ales (you buy these). We will also be holding a collaborative Renga poetry session on the Sunday morning.

The price for the whole of the weekend’s events, quality catering and accommodation is £110, all in.

Accommodation is in single-sex shared rooms and dormitories in bunk beds. We will do our best to accommodate those who would be unable to sleep on a top bunk. The accommodation is on the first floor of the hostel, up a set of stairs. There are a total of 30 places available.

If you would like to book a place, send a cheque for the full amount of £110 to the address below. Please include a piece of paper with your full contact details, including email address, home address and phone number.
