Pearl water cascades into brook,

Bubbles over rocks of titanium slate,

Tumbles foaming into beautiful lake,

Reflecting forget-me-not sky.

Trees of viridian and jade at distance,

Fields of emerald and gold.

Ivory cottage with tangerine roof,

Brass knocker on chestnut door,

Wine curtains at lattice windows.

Ruby geraniums in terracotta pots,

Crimson fuchsias hang from baskets.

Peacock and sapphire delphiniums stand tall

Behind abundance of peach roses

In cinnamon barked flower bed.

Purple pansies with midnighthearts,

Magenta begonias spilling onto path.

Amber cat sleeps by apple tree.

Coral and lemon honeysuckle

Climbs up side garden brick wall.

To the front a hedge of flowering shrubs

In cobalt and lilac hues.

A copper haired girl with violet eyes,

Soft mint dress and buttermilk shoes,

Takes apricot letter from mailbox,

Checks then kisses it with cherry lips,

Gives shriek of delight and runs inside.

I stop awhile to see this idyllic scene,

Feel warmth with just a touch of breeze,

Hear distant sounds of water flowing.

Smell delicate fresh floral scents,

Almost tasting fresh coffee aroma

Just now reaching me from within.
