Funny Boned #2

entry picture

This language that sits upon my shoulder

and skiddadles

when aproached,

has a  vicarious sense of humour

where, from behind

a previous thought,

it shouts the punch line of my next joke.

And, when I'm about to hear the following

instruction from a leaflet

seriously written,

It crouches, looking,

at me and the page

and back to me,

then whispers an incongruity of meaning

and I have to repeat

its  prescription.

Sometimes upon retiring I find

that it dresses

in my somnambulant

attire,

holding court and playing jazz

or funk,

when I thought I had finnished

partying for the night.

I haven't spotted the revisions precisely. My comments of great enjoyment still stand.

Why have you got Boccioni football player tagged to this. Is it a joke?
Is it the punchline to the next poem?

Liked this, especially the first verse. I think it's skedaddled. Talking of punchlines, whenever I see the name Tommy Carroll I think Stand-up Comedian. Funny that.

Like this much more now that you've edited, btw :)

Hi Chris!
Thank you for the comment on 'Funny Boned' I could not view it and now that I have re-submitted it (slight edit) the submission 'Middle East' has disappeared! Has there been a change in the 'format'?
