The Rememberers

entry picture

In an ambitious attempt to go beyond the one-person show, and integrating all kinds of multi-media elements to tell a sci-fi story with hip-hop lyrics, Apples & Snakes have got together with the Birmingham Rep to bring you a ‘live, hip-hop graphic novel’ called The Rememberers.

Written and performed by Kenny Baraka, the story is set in 2150AD in Norflyn – the People’s Defence Training Basecamp– half a mile west of NorCon’s central facility. The story is of 16-year old ‘7’s discovery that she holds the key to humankind’s future in their battle against the sinister Norcon Corporation, in order to save the planet; a classic tale of good versus evil, told through rap narration, lyrics, projection, music, and graphic novel illustration.

The show runs from Friday, 4th February, at the A E Harris Building on Northwood Street in Birmingham, for two weeks until Saturday, 19th February, 2011, and tickets are £12.
