Thieves can be good

Thieves can be good

A thief has many meanings
Depends what the thief is achieving
Stealing from property
Is just plain robbery

But a doctor curing a patient
Relieving various ailments
Is stealing death away
From where the patient lay

Thought I'd turn a negative word into something bright
So when you think something is wrong, it really is right
So when you're having a bad day just remember this
Every bad outcome has at least one positive twist

I agree good comes from bad, and I have been in bad places, and now I am here, ready to appear on Radio Teesdale this afternoon. Life is mysterious, glorious and precious. That's a brain hemorrhage and a baby born three years later talking.

I like the idea and the first verse is pretty. However, "using" various ailments is quite the wrong word. relieving various ailments might do.

...or Charlene, on a philosophical note, in Dialectical Materialism there is a term-'an interpenetration of opposites'. I think you have achieved poetically what some philosophers would term 'a negation of the negation'.
