Three magazines are asking for contributions

1. CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS FOR BRAND LITERARY MAGAZINE

BRAND Literary Magazine edited by Nina Rapi, with poetry editor Cherry Smyth and contributing editors including Ali Smith, Yang Lian, Jennifer Farmer is now accepting submissions for Issue 4.

We are focusing on the short form and are looking for high quality writing in any of the following:

short stories (max. 2.500 words); short plays or performance texts (max. 10 minutes); micro-fiction (up to five pieces and/or a total of 500 words); poetry (you can submit up to three poems and max of 40 lines each); creative non-fiction (e.g. memoir and literary essays, max. 2000 words). We are looking for writing that takes risks and/or has a strong voice. We welcome international work and translations.

2. CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS TO RED INK
The next reading period for Red Ink (ISSN 1751-1496) is open until the 31st August. This will be our 3rd year of publication(s) and each year the competition to be one of the 16 poets or 2 of the fiction writers we publish increases.

This is the last year that Peter Lewin will be the Poetry Editor, and we'd like to thank Peter for all the hard work he has done. In 2009, there will be a new Poetry Editor. News of this will be released at the end of the summer.

Red Ink (ISSN 1751-1496) is the only PDF publication in the UK to print stories of any length (from macro tale to novella). It publishes series of poems by poets (up to 8 poets in each issue) to allow subscribers to get a real taste of the poets work. Red Ink is published twice a year, Summer and Winter and will only accept hardcopy submissions between the 1st June and 31st August each year.

3. CALL FOR ARTICLES EDITOR FOR 2009 (MANCHESTER/LIVERPOOL/NW BASED)

Incorporating Writing (ISSN 1743-0380) is now in its 5th year and has become a respected magazine in the world of Literature. With the departure of Fiona Ferguson, we are looking to appoint a new editor, they must be:
a. Computer literate and have good command of spelling and grammar.
b. Able to edit copy and manage an articles team, making/terminating appointments when and where necessary.
c. A self starter, as all work is e-based home work.
d. Able to work within a team and arrange to meet online or via meetings when necessary.
e. A lover of literature and the arts.
f. Well organised and work to deadlines.
g. Able to come up with ideas for articles, when and where needed.
h. Able to write copy.
This is a voluntary position and amounts to 2-3 hours per week. Many past editors of the magazine have gone onto work in the media and publishing. With a readership of 25,000+ an issue and 4 issues a year, we are always looking for exciting voices and themes. 2009 themes include AGE and VIOLENCE. If you are interested in applying for the post, please submit an editorial of 500 words on either AGE or VIOLENCE by the 31st August, along with a CV, photo of yourself (in jpeg format) and a 30 word bio to:
