Anjum Malik and Friends

entry picture

A day of poetry, celebrating Friendship, Love and Food - Saturday 12th July, Wheatsheaf Library, Rochdale. It's Free with a Workshop: at 11am followed by Readings:  2.30pm

Anjum Malik returns to Rochdale with her poems and her poet friends to give you a very special experience.

Anjum will perform her food poems to make your mouth water and your tummy rumble, her love poems to make your heart beat faster for the one you love or the one you want to love, and her loss poems to remember, reminisce and celebrate life and all its joys. She will read in both English and Urdu.

Her poet friends are Basir Sultan Kazmi, a long established and much loved writer, well known for his gentle and moving words, and a line-up of the best new up-and-coming North West poetic talents:  Kervin Charles, Tachia Newall, Nabila Suriya and Gift Nyoni.

For local writers, there will be a creative writing workshop with Anjum on the theme of Friendship, Love and Food starting at 11am - book your free place by phoning 01706 924941 - and there will be a poetry open mic session after the main reading event (sign up on the day).
