Determination

Determination

Determination, is it worth the frustration?
The effort, the work and the concentration
To fight so hard and get nowhere
Nothing seems just and nothing seems fair

Maybe determination doesn't exist
And it's just another term for resist
As we don't like change and go into denial
We want the familiarities we've had for a while

We'll fight for something until we go crazy
But sometimes the path goes a little hazy
We're so determined our aim is gone
And the actual aim is now to struggle along

Another word for determination is stubborn
Not letting go until a battle is won
Sinking into it with deadly claws
Then just for good measure we bite into it with our jaws

So maybe determination isn't so good
Reducing us to doing things we never thought we could
So wrapped up in our own goal
Making rooms for our own graves by digging our own hole
