Just Singing and Dancing

entry picture

Oh!

What a day

What an extraordinary day

I am standing here in the rain

Tears streaming down my face

Drip drip dripping

Dropping from my chin

Soaking my beating breast

Pouring out my heart

To anyone

Who will sing and dance with me

Thank you Ladies, one and all.

Yes, you are on the rightish track, things are never what they first appear or purport to be.

the exception being 'Strictly'... I've never watched it but admit to once treading in some.

The poem eludes to tears and lonliness.... frustration and helpless despair.... all to that tedious DOO Dee DOO Doo Dacing in the Rain Tune sung by the smiling and beguiling Gene Kelly.... must have been something that I had eaten earlier.

Thank you as ever for your gracious comments and love you all to bits.

I too was struck with the emotional combination and intensisty of the rain and tears.
Mmmm... So much said between the lines.

Or maybe you are taking a long hard look at us poets - pouring our emotions out to each other - things we'd never dream of telling casual acquaintances...

Buoyant and engaging. Who wouldn't leap forward to take your arm? And then, I think - he's getting us right in the neck with a killingly witty travesty of 'Strictly'? It would be very hard to separate 'tears' from 'raindrops', so we have to assume your 'emotional honesty'.
