How

How lonely is the cloud as it wanders?
How crowded are the daffodil hosts?
How long can I listen to the empty beat?
How long can I stand the echoes?

A hollow life and a sunken heart
my gifts to the world.
A false hunger and desperate need
my concerto of wasted words.

How far can the crow fly on broken wing?
How much does a blind man miss the sky?
How long can I bear the darkness?
How long can I deny the weeping eye?

I drop to my knees for salvation
from a God who does not exist.
To be spared from fury and damnation,
to exist and allow to exist.

How hard have the mighty fallen?
How hot does the yellow sun burn?
How long can I persevere like this?
How long can I let my world turn?

How long?

I like this Steven, altho am not particularly fond of the daffodil / cloud reference, but I see why you thought of it in this context.

has a song like quality here, steve which would work with the last line certainly, but in the form of a poetry, it's probably too much with the extra 'How' I feel.

I particularly like gotta say 'How long can I deny the weeping eye?'

Nice stuff..
