The weekend of 24-26 September will see New Art Exchange, Gregory Boulevard, Nottingham transformed into ‘Lyric Lounge’ - a spell-binding performance space celebrating the power of live literature.

‘Lyric Lounge Nottingham’ is part of a region-wide series of mini-festivals taking place throughout 2010. Alongside workshops and showcasing opportunities for young wordsmith, lyricists and local artists, audiences can feast on a variety of commissions and jaw-dropping lyrical moves by established poets including John Agard ('Porkpie' from Desmonds) award-winning playwright, poet, former South Bank Centre writer-in-residence, short story and children's writer.

Also Birmingham-born wordsmith Polarbear combining storytelling with a distinctive lighting and projection design in his new spoken film, ‘Return’. search   And commissions by local artists including Michelle Mother Hubbard and Panya Banjoko.
