Old Possum’s Children’s Poetry Competition 2010
To link with the theme of National Poetry Day 2010, the Children’s Poetry Bookshelf is asking children aged 7-11 to write a poem on the theme of ‘Home’.
Eligible age groups: 7-8 and 9-11
Poems must be no longer than 25 lines.
Submissions are free, and can be via email or post. Closing date 15th of October.

There is also have a special International category specifically for children based outside the UK who are learning English as a foreign or second language.
The cat illustration is by Axel Scheffler, from Faber’s new paperback edition of T S Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, due out on 7 th October 2010.
