Calderdale Writers' Roadshow

entry picture

The second Calderdale Writers' Roadshow. Three days of workshops and talks by writers for writers:

Last year there was a fantastic response:

"Seeing so many different facets of creative writing is enlightening, helpful and therapeutic."
"Very stimulating, great speakers - entertaining content and delicious lunch!"
"I liked the focus of the workshops and the knowledge that everyone was eager to share."

More detailsand booking form can be found at http://www.calderdale.gov.uk/community/libraries/readers/writers-roadshow/index.html

This year ther are even more workshops, so you will be able to get really stuck in to your writing. The one2one sessions have been moved to the day before so that those attending won't have to miss anything.

This is a great chance to come along and meet other writers, both published and unpublished. You may be new to writing and want some help getting going, or you may be an established writer who would like some encouragement and support. It's a great chance to flex your creative muscles and get some inspiration and it's also great fun and a good day out.

One2one sessions

The one2one sessions will be held on the day before each roadshow:

  • Saturday 10th July, 2pm - 4pm, at Hebden Bridge Library:
With Gaia Holmes, Glyn Hughes, Anne Caldwell, Julia Deakin, Philip Foster and Janine Langley Wood
  • Friday 3rd September, 5pm - 7pm, Brighouse Library:
With Gaia Holmes, Glyn Hughes, Anne Caldwell, Stephen May, Char March, Jenny Roche, Julia Deakin, Philip Foster and Janine Langley Wood
  • Friday 8th October, 5pm - 7pm, Central Library Halifax:

These hour long sessions are a chance to meet with an author of your choice to talk about your own work. There is an extra charge of £10 for this, and you will need to send in some of your work in advance so the author can have a chance to read it. Do not send this with your booking form. You will be contacted before the event.
