Greed (Where Is the Future?)
Those people scream,
yet no one is listening.
They are suffering
as reality keeps choking.
Their tears have even dried up
to regain trust.
They are tired of promises
that never come to make things just.
The people who are also said to be human
kill those voices that dare to be different,
calling them criminals.
Children demand, "Where is the future?"
when all they want is for their future to shine,
but they do not know what is really happening.
Can we still hope for the future
when today
money kills empathy?
People who are also said to be human,
pretending to stand for other humans.
But in reality,
validation makes them greedy;
they are thirsty, seizing more to shape their reality.
They kill existence
to make theirs sufficient.
The greed
that keeps taking the lead—
do we still believe
that the future exists?
Maybe,
death is the future
that is not obscured.
