Drifting

DRIFTING

By the Urban Poet

As you flash through my thoughts

And I shake off the mist, and the dew

of the tears I look through

It’s the images I see;

that keep drawing me

And I’m drifting

I am drifting, drifting along

Floating on to where I belong

Which is with you, wherever you are

I’m just drifting, drifting

You just stood up there with

a guitar in your hand

And you sang with an edge

and we applauded the band

Captivating; resonating,

And I’m drifting

I am drifting, drifting along

Floating on to where I belong

Which is with you, wherever you are

I’m just drifting, drifting

Now I know it’s been hard

It’s been desperate at times

and the rhymes have dried up

The faded sun doesn’t shine

Words wouldn’t come out:

What is life all about?

I’m still drifting...
