The girl I can't recognize

She was laughing

Vividly

Romantically

Lost in June

That's where she stays

Frozen in time

A tear lingers begging to fall

It's hard to remember who I was before

How badly I wish to be her once more

You can see it in her eyes

While accompanied by friends

She was happy

I long to be happy

To be whisked away by laughter

I can't pretend to know what was funny then- I hardly remember the day as it passes me by

However, I find comfort in seeing that there was a time where a spark once lived- and it was loud, bold, I can feel it as I brush the photo

"Who was she?"

They might ask and I'll respond;

"I don't know, but I want to be her when I grow up."

Perhaps some day I still can.

I think these wistful lines will resonate with a lot of people Jordyn
